Meat-Free Mondays at Baker & Spice Jumeriah

I can't fill up this website fast enough with my favourite spots and Baker & Spice is truly one of them. Founded in 2009 by Yael Meija, it was one of the Cafes that spearhead the organic food movement in Dubai. Baker & Spice has since grown into four beautiful cafes spread across the city. My favourite is a beautifully lit cafe overlooking the Dubai fountains in Souk Al Bahar, Downtown Dubai currently closed for renovation.

When I found out that every Monday, Baker and Spice has a 2-course meatless menu at AED 79 only, I couldn't help but feel a deep growl in my stomach. Meatless Mondays is  a meat-lover's humble contribution to making the world a better place.  Through participating, I've discovered some amazing recipes, i.e my Stuffed grilled Eggplant.

I'm extremely pleased with the restaurant's thoughtful initiative and I'll be trying it next Monday with a couple of friends. In addition to helping meat-lovers save the world (and themselves), Baker & Spice have a reputation for working with local farmers and talent to create seasonal food that's not only delicious but also ethical. Their motto is LOCAL. ORGANIC. FRESH. HOMEMADE.

Speaking of homemade, the bread there is hands down one of the best in Dubai and you can take my money for it. You'll really need to acquire some restraint not to wolf more than the recommended serving size.
